Sunday is for Goulash

John fell asleep while watching South Park. He sleeps like a fucking baby now that he has this new job. 5 am. He has to wake up that early 5 days a week while going to school for 6. The job pays great, but I know he only took it because of me. "For our future".

So while he's passed out I decided to make us some dinner. Tonight, we're having beef goulash. Mmmmmm. . . Right? So I got right on the iPhone (the best invention ever made), looked at a few recipes and made one up.

Ingredients:

1 pound beef cubes

22 oz of desired marinara sauce

1/2 white onion

4 minced cloves of garlic, separated in half

10 chopped baby carrots

1 cup celery

1 cup water

1 cup beef broth

2 tbs Italian seasoning

2 bay leaves

1 tsp crushed red pepper

2 cans of tomato paste

3/4 tbs paprika

1/4 cup light brown sugar

1/2, 1/4 tbs salt, separated

1/4 tsp parsley

1/2 tbs black pepper seperated

1 tbs Worcestershire sauce

1 cup flour

1 tbs olive oil

Splash of sirracaha (I love spicy food)

Egg noodles

Directions:

On medium low (2 on stove setting) add tomato paste and marinara in a pot. Then add Worcestershire sauce, sirracha, carrots, half of the garlic, celery, 1/4 black pepper, parsley, 1/4 tbs salt, brown sugar, paprika, water, beef broth, crushed red pepper, Italian seasoning and bay leaves. Let simmer.

Add additional salt and pepper to flour in a freezer bag. Add steak pieces and shake. Remove excess flour and brown in pan with olive oil, onions and remaining garlic.

Pour steak, onion, garlic, olive oil mix to sauce. Let simmer for 30 min.

Boil egg noodles and drain. Serve topped with sauce.

Cook time: 1 hour 15 min

Servings: 10 (I made enough to have for lunch the next day and dinner the following night since I had to work)

Boyfriend tested. House wife in training approved.
